Everything you need to know before you walk through the door.

Do I need prior boxing experience?
No experience necessary. We start with the fundamentals and build from there. We also offer beginner-focused classes in the mornings if you want to really dial in the basics before jumping into group sessions.
What skill level are your classes for?
All levels. Our classes are structured in levels 1–4 so you progress at the right pace — whether you're just starting out or have some experience, training is tailored so everyone improves safely and effectively.
What kind of classes do you offer?
All of our classes are defense-focused — covering slips, rolls, blocks, and parries. Fundamentals are built into every session. We offer structured class levels (1–4), beginner mornings at 10am, and specialized sessions for competitive fighters.
How long is a typical class?
Each session is about an hour — warm-up, technical drills, mitt work, and conditioning. We pack a lot into that hour so you leave feeling accomplished.
How many people are in a class?
We keep class sizes small — usually 3–6 people per session. This way everyone gets attention and proper technique feedback, not just a number in a crowded gym.
What should I wear to class?
Comfortable athletic clothes and supportive shoes. Boxing gloves and wraps are ideal, but we can provide gloves for your first few classes if needed.
What equipment do I need?
Nothing for your first visit — we'll provide gloves and wraps. After your first class, Mikey can recommend the right gear for you based on how you train.
Is boxing safe for beginners or people with injuries?
Yes. Safety and proper form are the priority. Let Mikey know upfront if you have any injuries or limitations, and he'll modify exercises to keep you safe while still giving you a real workout.
How often should I train to see results?
2–3 classes per week is ideal for noticeable improvement in both fitness and technique. But even one class is a great workout and a step toward your goals.
What kind of results can I expect?
Most people see improved strength, endurance, agility, and confidence. We focus on building skill and fitness together — so you feel stronger inside and out.
Do you offer private or semi-private sessions?
Yes. Private and semi-private sessions are great if you want one-on-one focus or want to progress faster. Reach out to Mikey directly to discuss scheduling.
How much does it cost?
Your first class is free. After that, we'll talk about your goals and find the membership that fits. If you're not ready to commit yet, drop-ins are $20.
What if I want to box competitively?
We can definitely get you there. SSFC runs competitive programs and training camps for fighters. The first step is coming in for a class so we can see where you're at and start building a plan.
What is Coach Mikey's experience?
Mikey has been boxing since he was 12 and has been coaching consistently for 5+ years. He's worked with beginners all the way up to competitive fighters — wherever you're starting from, he knows how to help you progress.
